Julie
Zachary DeMarko received a B.A. (English) from the
University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) in 1965 and her
M.A. in English in 1971 at The University of West Florida.
Since that time she has taken additional courses in creative
writing and poetry at UWF and at Pensacola State College.
She taught English as an adjunct professor at PSC.
Currently, she is retired, writes memoir cookbooks and
pursues the mystery of poetry at International Poetry and
Creative Writing workshops. Juliet's latest book, Blue
Ridge Childhood, is a memoir of life in a small N.C.
mountain community in the forties and fifties. It is her
first book of poetry. Julie is currently the Poet Laureate
of North West Florida Literary Federation. She has three
daughters, Laura, Anna, and Mari Josephs and a stepdaughter,
Talia and lives in Pensacola, Florida with her husband
Michael DeMarko, a retired attorney and judge.
